Baby Swimming • 8 weeks – 18 months

A calm, positive first experience in the water

Your baby's first swimming lessons should feel safe, gentle and enjoyable — for both of you.

At Happy Tiddlers, baby swimming is about building trust and confidence, not forcing outcomes. Babies move, explore and learn at their own pace, supported every step of the way.

Confidence before technique

Some babies splash. Some observe. Some cuddle in close. All of it is learning.

Our instructors focus on helping babies feel relaxed and secure in the water, laying the foundation for confident swimming later on.

Positive first experiences matter.

Our ethos

Dive in together. The whole family, in the water.

Bonding is at the very heart of Happy Tiddlers. In our Urchins and Small Fry classes we actively encourage two adults in the water — mum, dad, grandparents, or whoever is special to your little one.

More loving hands, more giggles, memories you'll treasure forever.

More than swimming

Friendships that grow beyond the pool

Some of the strongest bonds we see aren't in the water — they're on the poolside. Our Baby & Pre-School classes and social swims bring families together, week after week, and lasting friendships grow from there.

Meet like-minded families

Connect with other local parents at the same stage of the journey — friendships often start right here at the poolside.

Babies socialise early

Little ones learn to share space, take turns and play alongside others — confidence that reaches far beyond the water.

A support network

New-parent life is easier together. Swap stories, share the wins and the wobbles, and feel part of something.

Relaxed social swims

Our Little Tiddler Social and Adult Social Swim sessions are all about connection — no lesson, just splashing and chatting.

Frequently asked questions

We know starting something new can feel daunting — especially for first-time parents. There's no such thing as a silly question, so here are the ones we're asked most.

Yes — current government guidance states that babies can swim prior to immunisations and there is no risk to the baby.
